Margrit Rieben's interests cover all possible and impossible sound sources. Her own composing and sound installations are an important branch of her work, as are collaborations with dancers, performance artists, actors, and interaction with the spoken word and video.
She works mainly integrative and context-sensitive.
Margrit Rieben has performed all over Europa, Lebanon, New York and in Japan.

She was a member of the S.I.O. (Swiss Improvisers Orchestra), of Fritz Hauser's Schallmaschine1 and the theatre group EIGER MOENCH UND JUNGFRAU. She is a member of MATTERHORN PRODUKTIONEN and the spoken work group BERN IST UEBERALL. COOKING THE LOVERS is her solo project.
She organised 2005, 2006 and 2008 the festival weeks LEISE KURZKONZERTE in her living room. Margrit Rieben has produced several CD's. She teaches drumset in a musicschool and is also active in the visual arts.
